Visit Salt Lake

Home to four of America’s top winter resorts – Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude - Salt Lake City has earned its “Ski City” title. The legendary slopes are just a 30-minute drive from Utah’s capital city, a vibrant downtown and an ideal base camp with more than 1,700 restaurants, 140 bars and 19 unique neighborhoods. It’s après ski redefined thanks to performing arts, museums, shopping, live music and pro sports. Salt Lake City International Airport is just minutes away and no other city in the world packs in so much urban energy so incredibly close to 500 inches of “The Greatest Snow on Earth.” There is only one Ski City.

Salt Lake City is experiencing a true Renaissance, thanks to the recent opening of a $2 billion redevelopment project, City Creek, as well as two groundbreaking museums and scores of new restaurants and bars. The completion of the TRAX light rail line from Salt Lake City International Airport to downtown, a GREENbike program and the new Sugar House Streetcar have made it one of the greenest cities in the country.

There is dynamic dining scene downtown, a bevy of brew pubs and cafes that have enlivened the area.

Dinosaur fossils are just one of the many astounding exhibits at the newly opened Natural History Museum of Utah. The 161,000 square-foot, Gold LEED-Standard museum has eight permanent exhibit spaces featuring 1.2 million objects of natural history, and a 1,200 square-foot children's gallery. The Leonardo--inspired by namesake Leonardo da Vinci--is a visionary interactive museum of science, technology, and art, housed in the former SLC Public Library. The Leonardo offers visitors exhibits, dialogs, hands-on workshops, performances and major traveling exhibitions.

Downtown Salt Lake lies just 40 minutes from Salt Lake’s four world-class resorts -- Alta, Brighton, Snowbird and Solitude -- and their respective 500-plus inches of “The Greatest Snow on Earth.”

Over half of Utah’s out-of-state visitors opt for staying in Salt Lake, and with good reason. Located 20 minutes from SLC International Airport with multiple daily flights from most major domestic gateways, the downtown area provides guests with the best of all worlds.
